Social Work, active Social Worker license and minimum 1 years
School Social Work experience required. Applicants who do not meet
these qualifications will not be considered. Located in Westland,
MI, this contract role offers the opportunity to support K-12
students as a School Social Worker for the current school year,
ending May 22, 2026. This position requires onsite work from 8:00
AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch
break. The role specifically covers the northern portion of the
cooperative, with details to be discussed during the interview. Key
Responsibilities: Provide direct social work services to individual
students or groups within classroom, school, or community settings.
Collaborate as a team member alongside building principals,
psychologists, ancillary staff, and teachers on student
intervention teams. Offer consultation to parents, school
personnel, and community agencies to support student needs. Conduct
in-service training sessions for school personnel and parent
education programs. Serve actively on Individualized Educational
Planning (IEP) Teams. Support students social, emotional, and
mental health needs utilizing effective communication and
professional interactions. Apply Crisis Prevention Intervention
(CPI) techniques when necessary. Maintain regular, predictable
in-person attendance and adhere to workplace rules. Qualifications:
Valid Michigan Social Worker licensure or MI 310 certification is
required. Experience working in school settings with K-12
populations preferred. Strong ability to collaborate across
multidisciplinary teams. Proficient in providing counseling and
crisis intervention in educational environments. Excellent
communication and interpersonal skills. This position offers
