Based in our ELYRIA, OH location, you will focus on developing new products for our customers, designed around their specific needs, so they can be the best at what they do. These products include plumbing and electrical tools, accessories, and new market applications. The Development Engineer will work with a dedicated and talented team of design, marketing, and manufacturing professionals.AS A DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER, YOU WILL:Design and develop new products and processes including concept development, component design, design verification, scheduling, product costing and reporting. The position involves complete project responsibility.Understand user needs to develop technical product specifications to meet those needs.Conduct feasibility studies to assess technology match to product specifications.Proactively participate and collaborate in cross-functional teams to achieve optimum outcomes.Prioritize goals focusing on delivering products on time while meeting cost and quality targets.Failure analysis and implementation of corrective measures.Participate in cost and quality improvement programs.WHO YOU ARE:You identify and seize new opportunities. You identify and create the processes necessary to get work done.REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field from an accredited college or universityMinimum three (3) years of experience in the design and development of mechanical / electro-mechanical products. Relevant Co-op or intern experience will also be considered.Hands-on experience with a variety of consumer and construction tools and equipmentBasic knowledge of manufacturing processes such as casting, forging, and machiningSkilled in 3D CAD design, Solid Edge or SolidWorks experience preferred"Can Do"-- - attitude with the ability to get things doneLegal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role.
