TitleLeader Workers Compensation & EHSJob Description SummaryThe
AAM Leader Workers Compensation (WC) & EHS will coordinate and
facilitate the development of business processes and systems to
manage, identify, reduce or eliminate risks associated with Workers
Compensation and EHS requirements. The Leader WC & EHS provides
technical and legal support, business process development, and
coordination of strategic and tactical planning with AAM leadership
to meet regulatory requirements specific to Workers Compensation
and EHS. The Leader WC & EHS will assist the AAM Global EHS
Director and global leadership team with setting long-term
direction for internal Workers Compensation and EHS programs and
systems.Job Description
- Lead responsibility for managing AAM Workers Compensation (WC)
program, including the collection and analysis of critical data
elements, coordination of requirements, monitoring of trends, and
identification and resolution of gaps.
- Interface with both Corporate leadership and plant/facility
leads to ensure related WC and EHS policies, processes, data, etc.,
are communicated and tracked in an effective and efficient
manner.
- Provide required data, program updates, issue analysis,
guidance and strategy support to AAM leadership to be compliant
with WC requirements and EHS related regulations.
- Audit the effectiveness of the AAM WC program and communicate
issues to management and EHS leadership.
- Lead Case Management, Claim Investigation and be able to
educate AAM business groups specific to: OSHA Standards &
Compliance - Stakeholder Management - Vendor Management - Worker's
Comp Administration - Compliance Documentation - Safety
Programs.
- Coordinate with AAM Legal, HR and EHS teams to identify
opportunities for cost savings related to WC matters.Required
Skills and Education
- Minimum Associate Degree in a related field.
- Work experience in: Workers Compensation, Safety Management,
EHS implementation, or related field supporting WC or EHS
experience.
- 3-5 years WC and EHS experience within a manufacturing
environment.Additional Qualifications include:
- Proven ability to consistently improve WC and EHS
outcomes.
- Knowledge and experience with WC management systems.
- Experience with and ability to influence senior leaders and
staff. Often uses influence to convince both internal/external
parties that share a common desire to accept new concepts,
practices, and approaches and frequently negotiates with a common
desire to reach agreement on complete proposals/programs.
- Ability to solve problems that may be vaguely defined and
require understanding and consideration of other job areas.
- Proven project management experience.
