Job Description:
Job DescriptionBAE Systems is seeking an IT Data Architect to
support our Combat Mission Systems (CMS) business.This role falls
within our Digital Enterprise Directorate and involves managing
multiple challenging projects related to our digital environment
development and deployment.Responsibilities:
- Support configuration control and change impact analysis on the
data architecture model, including identification of Authoritative
Source Of Truth (ASOT) databases, and manage data replication to
Midas and/or AWS Cloud Environments through Power BI.
- Serve as an IT specialist for the data science and
visualization team, resolving technical issues and coordinating
resolution activities with IT.
- Ensure compliance with upcoming system changes and
advancements.
- Manage service tickets and requests to meet team
objectives.
- Develop tools to monitor metrics and increase user
engagement.
- Maintain data source access controls and security.
- Evaluate engineering insights for decision-making and
operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to meet data and analytics
contractual and business requirements.
- Monitor dashboards, databases, and models to ensure uptime and
refresh rates.
- Enhance BAE Systems' technical reputation through effective
communication of findings, risks, and opportunities.
- Develop data models and process flows, working closely with
engineering stakeholders to document current business
processes.
- Focus on process improvement and produce artifacts to enhance
efficiency and effectiveness.
- Handle process mapping and identify bottlenecks.Minimum
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Systems Engineering, Data Management/Data
Science, with 6+ years of experience or equivalent
education/experience.
- Strong teamwork skills and critical contributions to
success.
- Exceptional analytical skills with knowledge of probability,
statistics, and mathematical programming.
- Proficiency with tools such as Visual Basic, MS Excel,
MATLAB/Simulink, Mathcad, Midas, AWS/AWS Redshift, SSAS, Alation,
Dataiku, Oracle, SQL.
- Familiarity with Atlassian Jira or ServiceNow.
- Server usage and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks independently
in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to research, analyze, and develop
solutions.
- Skill in translating data into actionable insights.
- Knowledge of advanced mathematical and engineering
concepts.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
- Experience in developing data collection requirements and
utilization strategies.
- Working knowledge of technical standards, strategies, and
architectures.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
