Description We are seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join the ICU Team at Elyria Medical Center. This position will work 20 12 hr. Day/Night shifts over a 6 week schedule with rotating weekends and holidays. Nurse practitioners must be ACNP and new grads are welcome to apply.\nPosition Summary/Essential Duties: (Critical-Care)\n\nPartners with Attending to provide 24/7/365 medical and surgical management for critical-care service.\nCritical-care duties include managing the comprehensive care of acutely and chronically critically ill or injured adult patients in collaboration with the intensivist physician on duty (or on-call).\nAdvanced skills of comprehensive airway management including endotracheal intubations using direct laryngoscopy and video assisted laryngoscopy, surgical airway management including open surgical cricothyrotomy.\nPartners with Attending and Respiratory Therapist to manage ventilator, non-invasive positive pressure ventilation, and high-flow modalities.\nInvasive procedures to include central lines, peripherally inserted central catheters (PICC lines), mid-lines, arterial lines, tube thoracostomy, dialysis catheters, cooling catheters, and various urinary catheters as indicated.\nSelection, implementation, management, and titration of vasoactive drugs, insulin infusions, sedation, and analgesia.\nResponds to all full trauma activations in ED, intracranial hemorrhages and aortic syndromes that are being transferred to a higher level of care in the ED.\nThe above listed critical-care duties require that this position must be certified as an acute care nurse practitioner (ACNP)\nOther duties as assigned.\nQualifications Position Requirements:Demonstrated competence as a practitionerEffective oral and written communication skillsA variety of technical patient care devices specific to the clinical areaComputers and selected office equipment\n Education/Expertise:Nurse Practitioner: Nursing Doctorate or Master of Science in Nursing with emphasis on clinical practice.-or-Physician Assistant: Completion of a formal Physician Assistant training from an accredited program with NCCPA certification.\n Required Credentials, Licensure or Certification (i.e. RN, RRT):Nurse Practitioner: BLS required; ACLS preferred; Current Registered Nurse license to practice in Ohio.; Current APRN license to practice in Ohio.-or-Physician Assistant: BLS required; ACLS preferred; NCCPA-Certified.; DEA license
