Job Details Corporate Generalist In-House Counsel (Mandarin
Speaker) Position Overview We are seeking a corporate generalist
in-house counsel to support our legal and compliance needs across
multiple business units. The ideal candidate will possess strong
commercial judgment, excellent drafting and negotiation skills, and
fluency in Mandarin and English to assist with transactions and
partnerships in Greater China and other Mandarin-speaking markets.
Responsibilities Provide day-to-day legal advice on a broad range
of corporate matters, including contract negotiation, corporate
governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management Draft,
review, and negotiate commercial agreements such as NDAs, service
agreements, licensing arrangements, vendor contracts, and
distribution agreements Support mergers, acquisitions, joint
ventures, and other strategic transactions by coordinating due
diligence, preparing legal documentation, and liaising with
external counsel Advise on compliance issues related to labor and
employment, data privacy, export controls, and anti-corruption
regulations, ensuring company policies align with applicable laws
in China, Taiwan, and other relevant jurisdictions Assist with
corporate secretarial duties, including board meeting materials,
corporate filings, and maintenance of corporate records for
subsidiaries and affiliates Collaborate with cross-functional teams
(e.g., finance, procurement, HR, product) to identify legal risks,
develop mitigation strategies, and implement best practices
Translate and interpret Mandarin-language legal documents,
correspondence, and regulatory guidance to ensure accurate
communication with Mandarin-speaking counterparts Monitor changes
in relevant laws and regulations in Mandarin-speaking markets,
summarizing implications for the business and recommending
appropriate course of action Partner with external counsel in China
or Taiwan when specialized local guidance is required, managing
budgets and overseeing deliverables Qualifications Juris Doctor
(JD) or equivalent law degree from an accredited institution Active
membership in good standing with a state bar (U.S.) or other
recognized jurisdiction Minimum of 3 years of in-house or law firm
experience handling corporate transactions, commercial contracts,
and compliance matters Demonstrated fluency in spoken and written
Mandarin and English; ability to negotiate and draft complex legal
documents in both languages Strong knowledge of corporate law,
securities regulations, intellectual property, and commercial
practices in the U.S. and Greater China region Proven track record
advising on cross-border transactions, joint ventures, and
regulatory filings involving Mandarin-speaking jurisdictions
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project-management
skills, with an ability to prioritize and manage multiple matters
under tight deadlines Outstanding interpersonal skills, including a
collaborative mindset and the ability to build trusted
relationships across diverse teams High level of integrity,
confidentiality, and sound commercial judgment Proficiency with
standard office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity
with e-contract platforms or contract-management systems Additional
Attributes Comfort working both independently and as part of a
small legal team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Willingness
to travel occasionally to China, Taiwan, or other Mandarin-speaking
locations as needed Interest in staying current on emerging legal
trends and best practices related to cross-border business
