Abound Health is seeking caring, stable, and dedicated individuals or families to join our Life Sharing Program as Host Families. This unique opportunity allows you to open your home and heart to an individual with an intellectual or developmental disability, creating a long-term, family-like relationship built on trust, belonging, and shared experiences. We are currently seeking a Life Sharing Host Family for an active, engaging individual with Down syndrome who thrives with structure, companionship, and daily mentorship. This role involves shared living, collaborative household responsibilities, and supporting the individual?s physical, social, and emotional growth. About Life Sharing Life Sharing is a person-centered residential model where an individual becomes a fully integrated member of a family?s home and community. Unlike traditional caregiving, Life Sharing focuses on long-term relationships, independence, and meaningful daily experiences within a natural home environment. As a Host Family, you provide not just a place to live ? but a sense of belonging, stability, and purpose. About the Individual You?ll Support We are seeking a Host Family who enjoys an active lifestyle and shared interests such as: Living a healthy, active life Playing basketball Video games Reading (especially the Bible, Harry Potter, and Goosebumps ) Outdoor activities like camping This individual benefits from patient guidance, emotional support, and a consistent, encouraging presence. You?ll help foster independence through daily routines, community involvement, and skill-building activities. What You?ll Do as a Life Sharing Host Family Provide a safe, stable, and welcoming home Support daily living skills and household routines Offer mentorship, companionship, and emotional support Encourage community involvement and recreational activities Collaborate with Abound Health to follow person-centered plans Promote independence, dignity, and personal growth Why Become a Life Sharing Family?
