Job Description Job Description About the Role: The Occupational
Medicine LPN or RN at Bloomington Medical Services plays a critical
role in delivering comprehensive healthcare services focused on
workplace health and safety. This position is responsible for
providing skilled nursing care, conducting health assessments, and
supporting injury prevention and management programs tailored to
occupational environments. The role involves collaborating closely
with healthcare providers, employers, and employees to promote
wellness, facilitate return-to-work processes, and ensure
compliance with regulatory standards. The successful candidate will
contribute to maintaining a safe and healthy workforce by
administering treatments, monitoring patient progress, and
educating patients on health maintenance and injury prevention.
Ultimately, this position aims to enhance employee health outcomes
and support organizational productivity through expert nursing care
in occupational medicine. Minimum Qualifications: Current and valid
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license in
the state of practice. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Minimum of 2 years of
nursing experience, preferably in occupational or industrial health
settings. Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety
standards and regulations. Ability to maintain accurate medical
records and handle sensitive patient information confidentially.
Preferred Qualifications: Certification in Occupational Health
Nursing (COHN) or related specialty. Experience with electronic
health record (EHR) systems specific to occupational health.
Familiarity with workers’ compensation processes and case
management. Additional certifications such as Advanced
Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or First Aid Instructor
credentials. Experience working in a multidisciplinary healthcare
team within an occupational medicine environment. Responsibilities:
Perform initial and ongoing health assessments, including vital
signs, medical histories, and occupational exposure evaluations.
Administer treatments, medications, and immunizations as
prescribed, and provide wound care and first aid for workplace
injuries. Coordinate and document employee health records, ensuring
confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations. Assist
in the development and implementation of workplace health and
safety programs, including injury prevention and wellness
initiatives. Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and
employers to facilitate employee return-to-work plans and manage
work-related health concerns. Educate employees on health
promotion, disease prevention, and safe work practices. Maintain
up-to-date knowledge of occupational health regulations and best
practices to ensure compliance and quality care. Skills: The
required nursing skills are applied daily to assess and manage
employee health concerns effectively, ensuring timely and
appropriate care delivery. Strong communication skills facilitate
collaboration with healthcare providers, employers, and patients to
coordinate care plans and promote health education. Proficiency in
documentation and use of electronic health records ensures accurate
tracking of patient information and compliance with legal
standards. Preferred skills such as occupational health
certification and familiarity with workers’ compensation enhance
the nurse’s ability to navigate complex workplace health issues and
