Radiology Tech Location: Detroit, MI Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,390 per week Shift Information: Days - 5 days x 8 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Job Title: Radiologic Technologist Profession: Radiographer Specialty: - Duration: 18 Weeks Shift: M-F and Every Other Weekend Hours per Shift: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Must be registered in Radiography with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology or registry eligible. Certifications: Healthcare Provider certification required (BCLS). Must-Have: Level I or II Trauma experience, in Operating Room. Description: Under the direction of a Radiologist, performs Radiologic procedures for the evaluation of pathological entities as ordered by a physician. Performs related functions according to department protocols. Utilizes independent judgment in determining appropriate radiographic techniques, positioning, and safety practices. Explains examination procedure to patients and prepares them for the examination. Reviews clinical data on requisition and performs appropriate examination. Obtains additional information about patient medical history, as necessary. Prepares procedure room and replenishes stock such as linen and related supplies. Analyzes anatomical structure of patients, sets up equipment and performs the Radiologic procedure. Manually controls the equipment to obtain the proper diagnostic information from the area of the body being studied. Utilizes patient immobilization as needed. May select and administer intravenous contrast media. Monitors patients for possible reactions as appropriate to the study and provides immediate care if a reaction occurs. Performs all imaging procedures demonstrating principles of radiation protection. May prepare and set up sterile equipment, monitors, and supplies required for the procedure. Follows infection control practices and ensures adequate supplies are on hand and properly stored. Follows standards for performing patient care functions for optimal patient safety, privacy, confidentiality, comfort, and legal/ethical rights. Completes all necessary worksheets, logs, patient records, and documentation. When needed, teaches and educates new hires and students while maintaining own responsibilities. Resolves any image exceptions and ensures high-quality image delivery into PACS. Completes all study indexing within the Radiology Information System. Reviews and confirms clinical protocols with the Radiologist before performing studies. Demonstrates team member standards of excellence including communication and teamwork. Performs documentation in the medical record and within the Radiology Information System to support clinical and billing functions. Works in hospital settings with potentially contagious patients, using strict safety precautions. May lift and/or move equipment and/or patients weighing over 10 lbs. Maintains required hours of continued education. Demonstrates personal qualities such as flexibility, commitment, and respect for diversity. Accepts and respects diversity without judgment.
