Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse Location: Columbus, OH
Facility: Major Academic Medical Center Weekly Gross Pay: $2,200 -
W2: $20.10 per hour - Per Diem: $1,477 per week Shift Options: 3x12
Days or 3x12 Nights (rotating available) Start Date: July 28, 2025
Contract Length: 13 weeks Job Description: Seeking experienced
PCU/Oncology RNs to join the 18 James Unit, a high-acuity
progressive care oncology unit with telemetry capabilities. The
unit includes 36 beds, with over 24 dedicated to PCU-level care.
Candidates will manage complex oncology patients with occasional
med-surg overflow. Pediatric oncology patients are rare and
typically managed by perm staff. ICU and PCU nurses do
exceptionally well in this environment. Requirements: - 2 years of
PCU or ICU experience required - Oncology experience preferred but
not required - Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Certification
- Must be flexible with schedule (no fixed shifts or blocks) - Must
float to similar or lower acuity units Skills Required: -
Dysrhythmia interpretation - Rapid response activation - Central
line, PICC, and peripheral IV management - Cardiac drip management
(non-titrating) - Blood product administration - Heparin protocols
- High Flow Nasal Cannula, BiPAP/CPAP - Tracheostomy care - Chest
tube care (Emerson/Pleur-evac) - Feeding tubes, PCA pumps - ABG
interpretation Skills Preferred: - Chemotherapy
administration/monitoring - Surgical drains, wound care/wound vac -
Phlebotomy, insulin drips Orientation: - Week 1: Monday–Friday,
dayshift orientation - Week 2: 36 hours with unit preceptor

Fingerprinting (OH): Required immediately after booking - RTO must
