Therapist to support patients in our acute care hospital in Geneva.

Overview /n The Respiratory Therapy Clinical Coordinator has met
all core skills of a respiratory therapist III and is able to
perform all of the general RCP duties. They act as a resource for
respiratory therapists, physicians, nurses and other hospitals
employees. They also function as a liaison between the staff and
department manager. Responsible for clinical supervision of staff
employees. Responsible for coordinating of shift assignments as
needed. Initiates and maintains positive relationships with
patients, caregivers, families and co-workers. /n What You Will Do
/n /n - General RCP duties including mechanical ventilation,
routine respiratory care, special procedures. /n - Initiates and
maintains positive relationships with patients, caregivers, and
families and coworkers /n - Takes responsibility for self
development and supports a learning environment /n - Displays
commitment to the hospital and its mission and values /n - Displays
expertise in skills as a Registered Respiratory Therapist. /n -
Clinical supervision of staff employees /n - Provides leadership
support, resources and assessment of personnel to maintain quality
services /n - Provides technical and clinical direction to staff,
including staff orientation, training and development, quality
initiatives and program development. /n - Act as a resource,
consultant for direct patient care for respiratory therapy staff,
physicians, nurses or other hospitals employees. /n - Function as a
liaison between staff and department manager /n - Coordinates or
shift assignments as needed using either on-line workload or
assignment tools. /n - Troubleshoot, report broken equipment to the
department operations assistant who will report to Clinical
Engineering /n /n Additional Responsibilities /n /n - Performs
other duties as assigned. /n - Complies with all policies and
standards. /n - For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to
documentation provided by the department during orientation. /n -
Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain
Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual
training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are
in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace. /n
Qualifications Education /n /n - Associate's Degree in Respiratory
Therapy (Required) /n - Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy or
related field (Preferred) /n /n Work Experience /n /n - 5 years
clinical experience in adult/pediatric respiratory care practice
(Required) /n - 5 years clinical experience in critical care
(Required) /n /n Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities /n /n - Foundation
of adult clinical care to include advanced therapies: inhaled
nitric oxide, airway clearance modalities, mechanical ventilation,
airway management, non-invasive ventilation, helium oxygen
mixtures, tracheostomy care, blood gases and transport as
applicable per site. (Required proficiency) /n - Must demonstrate
highly effective oral and written communication skills. (Required
proficiency) /n - Highly self-motivated and creative. Must be able
to innovate and influence. (Required proficiency) /n - Must work
collaboratively with administrators, physicians, nurses and other
health care providers. (Required proficiency) /n /n Licenses and
Certifications /n /n - Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
(Required) /n - Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required) /n - Pediatric
Advanced Life Support (PALS) (Preferred) /n - Advanced Cardiac Life
Support (ACLS) (Preferred) /n - Current RCP Ohio License granted by
the Ohio Medical Board (Required) /n - American Association for
Respiratory Care membership (Required) /n - Certified with at least
one advanced national certification by the NBRC or CTTS
certification. (Required) /n - NRP Certified (Neonatal facilities)
(Required within 6 Months) /n /n Position Details /n Must have at
least 5 years of respiratory therapy experience, 5 of those years
in critical care. This position is for days, (3) 12 hour shifts per
week. The schedule is flexible and there is also call 24/7. /n /n
