Full-timePosition PurposeNurse Midwife will provide care in an
atmosphere sensitive to each person's physical, emotion, social and
spiritual needs. The Nurse Midwife, functioning in the spirit of
team work, is accountable for the delivery of advanced practice
nursing care, in collaboration with the perinatologists, OB/GYN and
Family Practice physicians, utilizing standards, protocols,
policies, procedures, and guidelines of the organization. Provides
primary care in an ambulatory setting to women including the
ordering of diagnostic tests and management of minor complications.
Provides inpatient obstetrical care for essentially healthy women
including labor management, delivery of infant, repair of
lacerations/episiotomy and management of minor
complications.Responsibilities
- Manages the care and treatment of patients as indicated in the
professional scope of practice and within current standards and
protocols.
- Develops a comprehensive plan of care with the patient/family
consistent with established guidelines
- Practices within the guidelines of a Standard Care Arrangement
with a collaborating physician.
- Initiates and leads performance improvement activities with a
focus on achieving top quartile on clinical indicators.
- This is office based position including rotating call, rounding
and deliveries at St. Ann's and Mount Carmel
East.Requirements/Qualification
- Education: Masters required in Science, Nursing or specialty
field. Graduate of Advanced Practitioner Program.
- Current License as RN in Ohio. Certified as Advance Practice
Nurse in designated specialty. Holds current APRN license from the
Ohio Board of Nursing as a midwife.
- 1-2 years Nurse Midwife experience is required.
- To be considered, candidates must demonstrate prior performance
of at least 20 deliveries in past 24 months.
- DEA license
- Strong clinical assessment and analytical skills
- Self-directed professional with strong organizational
