Description Position Summary/Essential Duties: \n\n\n\tPartners
with Attending to provide 24/7/365 medical and surgical management
for critical-care service.\n\tCritical-care duties include managing
the comprehensive care of acutely and chronically critically ill or
injured adult patients in collaboration with the intensivist
physician on duty (or on-call).\n\tAdvanced skills of comprehensive
airway management including endotracheal intubations using direct
laryngoscopy and video assisted laryngoscopy, surgical airway
management including open surgical cricothyrotomy.\n\tPartners with
Attending and Respiratory Therapist to manage ventilator,
non-invasive positive pressure ventilation, and high-flow
modalities.\n\tInvasive procedures to include central lines,
peripherally inserted central catheters (PICC lines), mid-lines,
arterial lines, tube thoracostomy, dialysis catheters, cooling
catheters, and various urinary catheters as
indicated.\n\tSelection, implementation, management, and titration
of vasoactive drugs, insulin infusions, sedation, and
analgesia.\n\tResponds to all full trauma activations in ED,
intracranial hemorrhages and aortic syndromes that are being
transferred to a higher level of care in the ED.\n\tThe above
listed critical-care duties require that this position must be
certified as an acute care nurse practitioner (ACNP)\n\tOther
duties as assigned.\n\nQualifications Education/Expertise: \n\n
Completion of an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program approved by
the ANCC or AANP.\n\n OR\n\n Completion of a physician assistant
educational program approved by the Accreditation Review Commission
on Education for the physician assistant or a predecessor
organization recognized by the State Medical Board of Ohio.
Certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician
Assistants (NCCPA) required.\n\n Required Credentials, License
and/or Certifications: \n\n\n\tMust hold current license as a
Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio, national board certification
as an ANCP (ANCC or AANP), a Certificate of Authority by the Ohio
Board of Nursing as a certified Nurse Practitioner Board of Nursing
\n\n\n OR\n\n A valid certificate to practice as a Physician
Assistant issued by the State Medical Board of Ohio\n\n\n\tValid
prescriptive authority as issued by the Ohio Board of Nursing or
State Medical Board of Ohio.\n\tMust have DEA license or be
eligible to apply for DEA number and license.\n\tMust have a valid
BLS and ACLS card upon hire.\n\tCertification for ATLS audit, PALS,
and NIHSS required within six months.\n\n\n Experience & Knowledge:
\n\n\n\tMinimum of 2 years of experience in hospital
medicine/surgery, required.\n\tACNP board certification,
required\n\n
