Description We are seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join our Inpatient Cardiovascular Surgery team seeing patients pre and post cardiac and vascular surgery at Elyria Medical Center. This position will work Day shift and every third weekend. APP and cardiac surgery experience preferred. Acute Care NPs preferred and new grads welcome to apply!\n\n Position Summary:\n\n\n\tPerforms patient assessment and assigns diagnosis based on recorded assessment data and current scientific and current research.\n\tEstablishes plan of care and implements interventions in accordance with care paths, protocols, and standards of care and current research.\n\tCollaborates w/other health care providers in an interdisciplinary approach to provide care to the patient and family.\n\tOrder and perform routine diagnostic procedures\n\tDevelop and implement treatment plans\n\tMonitor the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions\n\tContributes to the educational development of staff, patients, family and self.\n\tDemonstrates progressive leadership and effective management.\n\tProvides education through role modeling and in-services to meet identified learning needs and to promote professionalism.\n\tAdvances own professional development through self-directed learning, continuing education and participation in peer review.\n\tInitiates and maintains positive relationships with patients/customers.\n\tInitiates and maintains positive relationships with co-workers.\n\tTakes responsibility for self-development and supports a learning environment.\n\tDisplays commitment to the mission of the hospital and its values\n\nQualifications Position Requirements:\nDemonstrated competence as a practitioner\nEffective oral and written communication skills\nA variety of technical patient care devices specific to the clinical area\nComputers and selected office equipment\n\n Education/Expertise:\nNurse Practitioner: Nursing Doctorate or Master of Science in Nursing with emphasis on clinical practice.\n-or-\nPhysician Assistant: Completion of a formal Physician Assistant training from an accredited program with NCCPA certification.\n-or-\nCNS with prescriptive authority\n\n Required Credentials, Licensure or Certification (i.e. RN, RRT):\nNurse Practitioner: BLS required; ACLS preferred; Current Registered Nurse license to practice in Ohio.; Current APRN license to practice in Ohio.\n-or-\nPhysician Assistant: BLS required; ACLS preferred;; NCCPA-Certified.; DEA license\n
