Description Provides safe efficient age specific nursing care to patients/families using the nursing process in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health status. Dimensions are: 1. Implements the nursing process by delivering effective relationship based nursing care. 2. Qualifications 5 Smythe is a 32 bed General Medical Surgical division at Elyria Medical Center where Telemetry is utilized. The nursing unit cares for adult patients ages 18+. This is a great unit for New Grad RNs to establish a solid foundation of nursing skill sets while working with different types of patients with a wide variety of diagnoses. Common diagnosis include GI, Wound Care, Overflow Ortho, General Medical and General Surgery. Candidates will have the opportunity to shadow the unit with a RN as part of the selection process. New Grad RNs who accept a position with 5 Smythe will be eligible for a $3,000 sign-on bonus in addition to the $15,000 Loan Repayment program. Position Requirements: Thorough knowledge of nursing process and practice. Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed medical therapies (i.e. stethoscopes, thermometers, sphygmomanometers and electronic monitoring devices. Education Requirements: Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred. Minimum of Diploma/Associate's Degree in nursing from accredited program. Education and degree verification will be required upon receiving a job offer. License Requirements: An Ohio RN license is not required to be considered for this position. If selected to move forward, employment offers may be made contingent on candidate successfully obtaining RN license within time frame discussed at the time of offer acceptance. Current BLS Provider Certification, issued by the American Heart Association, must be obtained during Nursing Orientation. Preferred Qualifications: BSN preferred. Prior experience in the Acute Care setting in a practicum or UAP capacity (STNA, PCNA, NA II, etc.) is preferred.
