Position SummaryThe Resident Care Director (RN/LPN) plans, organizes, develops, and directs the overall operation of the Resident Care Department to assure resident safety, and attain or maintain the highest practicable quality assisted living services focused on maximizing residents' individual capabilities in accordance with all laws, regulations and Century Park standards. Reports to the Executive Director (or Assisted Living Director, if applicable).QualificationsMust have a minimum ASN degree from accredited college or universityMust be currently licensed/registered in applicable StateMust maintain an active Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing throughout employmentMust have two (2) years supervisory experience in senior care, or related settingMust have CPR certification upon hire, or obtain during orientation, certification must remain current during employmentMust have current First Aid certification (if required by State)Primary Job ResponsibilitiesAdministrative and PlanningPlans, develops, organizes, implements and evaluates resident care goalsMaintains compliance with budget in labor and expense controlCreates, manages and approves scheduling for Resident Care staff to ensure appropriate staffing levels 24/7Resident Care FocusWorks with Executive Director and/or Assisted Living Director to build relationships with residents and familiesCompletes Resident assessments, develops and implements service plans and communicates these outcomes with resident and/or family member upon admission, and as often as is State mandated, no less than semi annually and as neededConducts incident report follow up investigation and ensures completion of resident status documentationPrepares for survey readiness and follow up to ensure Plan of Correction is appropriately and timely completedDevelops and monitors quality improvement planCompletes audits and observations to ensure associate compliance with Infection Control and other resident care regulationsEnsures documentation of resident clinical status/needs, communicates with physicians and other healthcare professionalsInvestigates and resolves resident and family concerns and complaints in collaboration with Executive DirectorMedication Management FocusOversees medication program including accuracy of medication assistance records (MARs), providing hands on medication assistance to residents and monitoring med passesProvides communication and follow up with provider pharmacy to ensure compliance with resident medication ordersConducts regular audits of medication records, med storage areas, MARs and Narcotic Declining InventoriesSupervisory RequirementsRecruits, selects, hires, trains, evaluates, supervises, and counsels resident care team as neededServes as an effective role model, maintaining an approachable leadership styleAdditional RequirementsMust be able to communicate effectively with physicians, resident care staff, and all other staff, family members, or othersParticipates in community health matters/projects as appropriateLiaisons with residents, families, support departments, etc. to adequately plan for resident needsMust be able to collect, analyze, and manage dataMust have expert knowledge in field of practiceMust possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such actionMust be knowledgeable of nursing administration practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing nursing functions in an assisted living communityMust have the ability to implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the resident care departmentMust perform proficiently in all applicable competency areasMaintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etcMaintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential informationMust understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance proceduresDisplays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Century Park's Code of Ethics and completes all required compliance trainingWho We AreAt Century Park Associates, we are dedicated to creating an enriching lifestyle for our residents and a rewarding work environment for our valued associates.
