Job Description:
Superior Dairy is seeking a dedicated and experienced Sanitation
Manager.--As the Sanitation Manager you will be responsible for all
activities related to food sanitation in a dairy manufacturing and
packaging environment. --You will be instrumental in creating and
formalizing a fully compliant sanitation program, ensuring thorough
documentation and adherence to all standards. In this position you
will work directly with the plant manager and quality assurance
manager to support the food safety and food quality needs of the
facility. Chemical and sanitation training, tracking and trending
sanitation trends, root cause analysis and audit support will be
your primary responsibilities. This position will be supported by a
team of sanitation supervisors.----Superior Dairy, founded in 1922,
is best known for producing high quality dairy products, including
fluid milk products, cottage cheese, sour cream, ice cream and chip
dip. Superior Dairy is a wholly owned subsidiary of Michigan Milk
Producers Association (MMPA). Together we run a multi-state dairy
manufacturing and innovation campus with four facilities across the
Great Lakes region.The Michigan Milk Producers Association (MMPA),
established in 1916, is a dairy farmer-owned and operated milk
marketing cooperative and dairy processor. As the 10th largest

For:ResponsibilitiesSchedule and manage sanitation program to
ensure plant operations meet sanitation requirements for food
production--Train sanitation and plant employees to achieve and
maintain sanitation objectives.Build and maintain a Master
Sanitation Schedule and related documentation.Meet cleaning
frequencies established in the Master Sanitation Schedule.Support
PM program for critical dairy equipment (HTST pasteurizers, cream
separators, pumps and valves etc)Make recommendations for
improvements and lead improvement teams.Work with the Plant
Manager, QA Manager --and Director of Quality to troubleshoot
issuesExplain sanitation related hazards and safety measures to
employees and monitor compliance.Maintain chemical inventory and
interact with the chemical supplier for advice on training or
issues related to sanitation.Develop SSOPs.Work directly with
contracted chemical company to drive best practices in the
plant--Enforce safety and GMP policies and maintain plant
cleanliness.Other duties as assignedEducation & ExperiencePosition
Requirements--Complexity:--Previous experience in food
production/manufacturing environments including a general knowledge
of food ingredients and processing equipment. Excellent
communication, presentation, interpersonal, and time management
skills and must display strong leadership qualities.Working
Conditions:--Most time will be spent in a production environment
working with production machinery. Sometime will be spent at a desk
using various office equipment including a computer, telephone,
etc.Physical Demands: While performing duties of this job, this
person --will be regularly required to stand for long periods of
time, use hands, handle control, and to talk or hear. The associate
is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The associate
is occasionally required to sit. The associate may be required to
lift 25 lb routinely, and up to 50 lb on occasion.Safety/ Hazards:
This position requires the ability to understand and follow policy
and procedures of safety rules and regulations. This manager and
the manager's subordinates will have exposure to steam, chemicals,
wet conditions, elevated platforms, and a variety of production
equipment.Travel: Occasional travel to other MMPA facilities for
training or support.--QualificationsA bachelor's degree in food
science, animal science, any other science stream or related field
is preferred -but not requiredApplicants must have 5+ years of
progressive experience in food sanitation with supervisory
responsibilitiesThe applicant must be familiar with the theory and
application of clean in place (CIP), clean out of place (COP),
SSOPs--Applicants must have knowledge of Regulatory requirements
with respect to food production and sanitation (OSHA, FSMA,
Sanitation Controls, MPs, and SSOPs)Applicants are required to have
practical experience in sanitation practicesBilingual
(Spanish/English, English/Spanish) is preferred, but not
required.--Applicants should have MS Office related computer
skills.--The candidate must demonstrate the ability to facilitate
change by involving employees in continually improvement
