the Role:The Sr Director Operations Training & Execution Excellence
is a key strategic leader responsible for building, scaling, and
executing comprehensive training and development programs across
Subway North America. This role leads a team of instructional
designers, facilitators, field trainers, and execution experts to
ensure consistent delivery of learning on operational standards,
brand initiatives, and skills development, including onboarding,
training & upskilling of Franchisees, Operations Managers, and
Restaurant teams. This leader will work cross-functionally with
Marketing, Operations, Technology, and Franchisee Services to drive
performance, enable field execution, and support strategic brand
transformation efforts. A key mandate is to ensure franchisees, and
their teams are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and tools to
deliver an exceptional guest experience and drive business growth.
Ensuring teams are able to orchestrate and build best-in-class
programs that re-energizes and engages the franchisee base,
ensuring high quality and high impact experiences.If you feel that

environment.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Strategy & Leadership: Develop and execute the North American
training and execution strategy aligned with Subway's business
goals. Lead and inspire a high-performing team across instructional
design, training delivery, execution, and field support. Partner
with regional teams to align training frameworks with global brand
standards and adapt for regional needs; ensuring consistency and
adherence to brand standards across all territories.
- Program Development & Delivery: Oversee the creation,
deployment, and continuous improvement of onboarding, compliance,
operations, and leadership development programs. Leverage blended
learning approaches (in-person, digital, on-demand) to maximize
reach and engagement across franchise locations. Integrate field
training execution teams into the training lifecycle to support
rollout and adoption of new initiatives.
- Executional Excellence: Lead initiatives that ensure consistent
execution of brand standards, product launches, and operational
rollouts across markets. Champion best-in-class tools and practices
to accelerate time-to-competency and improve store-level
performance. Use data and performance metrics to drive continuous
improvement in training impact, field adoption & ROI.
- Field & Franchisee Enablement: Work with Field Operations to
ensure training and execution tools are practical, scalable, and
aligned with operational KPIs. Collaborate with franchisee advisory
councils and key stakeholders to ensure training meets evolving
business and operational needs. Build feedback loops to assess
effectiveness of training and iterate based on results.
- Stakeholder Engagement, Management & Collaboration: Work
closely with & influence key leaders & various departments,
including Operations, Technology, Learning & Development,
Marketing, Culinary, Development, Digital, Legal & Franchise
Services, to ensure seamless execution of operational strategies.
Engage franchisee advisory councils as required when building out
key initiatives.
- Change Management & Transformation: Play a pivotal role in
supporting large-scale transformations, including technology
rollouts, digital platforms, and operational innovations. Develop
and implement change management plans to ensure stakeholder
engagement and minimize disruption during major transitions.
- Attend & Support operation of Operations Advisory Council.
- Facilitate Global Operations Monthly meetings.Qualifications:
- Bachelors in Business or related field.
- Advanced degree in Learning & Development or similar is
preferred.
- Strong financial acumen with experience in managing budgets and
resources efficiently.
- Proven ability to lead large-scale transformation &
demonstrated success leading training strategies in a fast-paced,
evolving organization with expertise in learning principles,
instructional design, digital learning technologies, and field
execution.
- Strong understanding of large-scale franchising, field
operations, frontline team dynamics, and customer service
delivery.
- Strong leadership, commercial, interpersonal & presentation
skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all
levels of the organization.
- Proven ability to think strategically while executing
communications plans with precision.
- Excellent written, visual, and oral communication skills, with
a strong understanding of how to tailor messages to different
audiences.
- Creative and innovative thinker with strong critical thinking
and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and project
management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including SharePoint,
Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple,
changing priorities.
- 15+ years of experience in learning & development or field
operations preferably within multi-unit, quick-service restaurant,
franchise QSR environment.
- 5+ years in a senior leadership role. Significant experience in
leading & managing teams and collaborating across cross-functional
teams in a global, matrixed environment.
