solutions around the globe.Position SummaryThe Senior Director
Operations is responsible for leading multiple complex and
efficient manufacturing facilities that operate independently and
include oversight of support functions such as Supply Chain,
Quality, Continuous Improvement, Finance, Human Resources at each
location. This responsibility will be achieved through the
development and execution of a successful strategic plan that meets
stakeholder and Customer needs and accomplished while maintaining a
culture of continuous improvement. The individual collaborates
directly with business and operations leaders to establish
operating strategies, align on objectives, KPI's, evaluates each
location's performance, pro-actively manages risk, and enforces
accountability throughout. Additionally, the Senior Director,
Operations oversees multiple plant budgets, capital requests, and
optimization of inventory.What You'll do as a Senior Director of
Operations
- Develops and executes strategies to meet Operations business
goals.
- Collaborate with stakeholder business leaders to identify
business needs and objectives.
- Research and analyze data, as well as market and environmental
conditions to identify opportunities, challenges, and functional
needs.
- Develop short and long-term strategic plans that align to
business objectives.
- Determine potential risks and develop mitigation
strategies.
- Leads cross functional teams to execute on initiatives.
- Drives successful operations of designated manufacturing
locations/areas of responsibility with a focus on Safety,
Sustainability, Quality, Cost, and Delivery while supporting
continuous improvement initiatives and strategies in alignment with
STERIS's standards of operational excellence.
- Ensures safety policies and protocols are in place and
maintained for all locations and reinforces accountability for
safety performance.
- Operations are carried out through the lens of sustainability
and towards a reduction of negative environmental impact.
- Drives consistency and standardization throughout each
facility.
- Provide guidance and support to team members in achieving
operational goals.
- Regularly communicates with, aligns with, and supports
Corporate shared functions (e.g. Quality, Regulatory, Business
Transformation/CI, Human Resources, Finance, IT, etc.) in the
development and implementation of short-term and long-term plans to
meet business objectives.
- Leads and holds Operations leaders accountable for meeting or
exceeding performance linked to Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
Contributes to the KPI process for other functions.
- Provides direction and guidance on the development of KPI's for
each location, ensuring that the KPI's implemented are aligned with
overall business objectives and operational goals.
- Collaborates with shared services functions and key
stakeholders on KPI development that overlap with Operations
locations.
- Holds Operations leaders accountable for meeting or exceeding
their KPIs.
- Provides guidance, support, and resources for leaders to
achieve their targets.
- Facilitates/participates in cross-functional collaboration to
achieve alignment and common goals.What You'll do continued
- Collaborates and communicates with, on an ongoing basis, key
business leaders and stakeholders regarding current status on plant
performance, initiatives, special projects, and other key actions
that could potentially impact Customer delivery, safety, quality,
cost, or morale.
- Develops Operations annual budgeting and operational plans,
monitors performance against plan, and takes corrective actions to
ensure all objectives are met. Business planning includes
requirements for staffing, capital equipment, materials,
facilities, etc. that will result in meeting Customer demands and
network optimization.
- Leads, implements, and supports continuous improvement
methodologies, initiatives, and practices for optimal operational
efficiency while reinforcing a continuous improvement culture.
- Ensures application of company procedures and requirements
including but not limited to Quality and Regulatory, HR, Finance,
Code of Business Conduct, and STERIS's standards of operational
excellence.
- Fosters and promotes a safety culture and work environment
consistent with OSHA, EPA and other applicable in-country and
company standards. Ensures for each facility that all potential or
real hazards and injuries are reported, work practices are properly
followed, all appropriate PPE is used, and all applicable safety
training is received.
- Leads and participates in strategy and tactics for Associate
engagement, talent development/training, succession planning,
Associate, and labor relations. Provides an engaging work
environment, fosters two-way communication, hires, evaluates
performance, provides feedback, development assignment
opportunities, provides coaching/mentoring, and holds leaders
accountable for meeting objectives and successful operations.
- Selects, develops, and retains high-quality talent and ensures
a similar approach at each operations facility.
- Builds talent strategy and capabilities to meet company
objectives.
- Provides coaching and feedback to direct reports for optimal
performance and while maintaining accountability for performance
and achieving set objectives.
- Leverage people data resources to identify opportunities for
improvement in Associate engagement and ensure operations leaders
are creating a productive and engaging work environment for
Associates.
- Conduct regular and ongoing check-ins with direct reports
focused on discussing objectives, performance, engagement, and
growth/development.
- Performs other operations-related responsibilities that may be
assigned.
The Experience, Skills, and Abilities NeededRequired:
- Bachelor's degree in business, operations management,
engineering, supply chain, or related field
- Minimum 15 years experience in supply chain, manufacturing
operations, manufacturing related processes
- Minimum 10 years experience in an Operations-related leadership
role
- Minimum 5 years lean manufacturing experience and
knowledgePreferred:
- Master's Degree
- Minimum 5 years experience working with medical device
requirements
- Experience working in a similar industrial environmentOther:
- Demonstrated strengths inleadership, business acumen,
developing partnerships/relationships, delivering results,
organizing and analysis, planning, strategy development, verbal and
written communication including presentation skills, and sufficient
computer skills
- Thorough understanding of the functional and general practices
and operations of Human Resources, Manufacturing, Finance,
Engineering, Materials Management and Quality System

is$135,250.00-$202,912.50. This position is eligible for bonus
participation.Minimum pay rates offered will comply with
county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are
based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local
labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education,
professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.STERIS
