If you are a PRODUCT MANAGEMENT professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! As a Product Manager, you will be responsible for driving the innovative and strategic direction for various product lines. You will work cross-functionally to develop the new product plan and identify and drive improvements to the existing product portfolio. This role leads, facilitates, or otherwise participates in day-to-day activities of his/her product portfolio, including but not limited to customer visits, pricing, forecasting, sales training, and sourcing decisions. In addition, you will be responsible for identifying new product opportunities and working cross-functionally to develop products and bring them to market. This position reports to the Director of Product Management.AS A PRODUCT MANAGER, YOU WILL:Manage the entire product lifecycle of products in the applicable categories, from cradle to grave.Conduct extensive research to understand and anticipate our customers' needs, and lead development projects to meet those needs.Assess the competitive position of the product portfolio against competition and develop future growth opportunities.Maintain current knowledge of market trends, technologies, competitors, customer base, market size, channels of distribution, industry trade associations, and required product certifications.Develop long-term product line strategies and a corresponding new product pipeline that is consistent with the vision and strategic intent of the Emerson Professional Tools business.Work in cooperation with Engineering, Operations, and Sales/Marketing to manage new product development programs and launch new products.Establish and monitor market pricing of assigned products and drive strategic pricing decisions to grow margins while gaining share.Actively support the sales function, including product training, developing competitive product information, creating value propositions, and working with end-user customers.Conduct a product line profitability analysis and implement necessary improvement initiatives.WHO YOU ARE:You build and deliver solutions that meet customer expectations. You display a can-do attitude in good and bad times. You represent your own interests while being attentive to others' interests as well. You effectively communicate in various settings: one-on-one, small and large groups, or among diverse styles and position levels.REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:Three or more (3+) years of experience in professional product management, marketing, engineering, or sales, or equivalent experience that demonstrates the requirements of the jobBachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, or related fieldInvolvement in new product development projects and project management methodologies in a manufactured product environmentAbility to immerse oneself in the customer environment and visualize new product/service applicationsStrong business acumen to gauge marketplace trends, the development of new technologies and products, and competitor activityAbility to communicate and present critical information to all levels of employees and customers to achieve assigned objectivesAbility to effectively identify and resolve complex problemsCapacity to coordinate multi-year projects that have a significant impact on the organizationOrganizational agility, interpersonal skills, and political savvy traits are necessary to gain the cooperation of several departments that do not report directly to the positionStrong analytical skills - must be comfortable developing data-driven analyses to support new product recommendations, pricing decisions, and other category initiativesCore skills of planning, organizing, and process management to maneuver with other functions such as engineering, manufacturing, marketing communications, and outside vendorsAbility to travel up to 25%-30% of the timeLegal Authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be included for this role.
