If you are a MANUFACTURING ENGINEER looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our ELYRIA, OH location, you will plan, organize and manage the plant's manufacturing engineering function for the Pro Tools Elyria Manufacturing Plant. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager. Key responsibilities for this role include leading a team consisting of ten Manufacturing Engineers and/or Applications Engineering Specialists or Co-ops; building organizational capability, providing direction for new product launches, productivity, and reduction of overall production cost, while meeting production schedules. The ME Manager is also expected to support capital projects and provide cost estimates for such projects and fiscal year planning. Additionally, this position is a key member of the Operations Management leadership team, providing input for long-term strategic issues and plans. AS THE MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING MANAGER, YOU WILL: * Implementing Learning & Development Plans, Competency Development Plans, and annual Performance Management Goals for all team members. Reviewing the performance of engineering team members, day-to-day engineering activities, and long-term strategic planning for this function. * The ME Manager is responsible for coaching and training the team in various engineering skills and processes in addition to mentoring and providing career guidance. * Responsibilities also include providing technical expertise, coordinating resources, managing team staffing levels, conducting interviews, cross-functional collaboration, safety and performance development. The ME Manager is responsible for the technical quality of engineering tasks and must ensure the proper processes and technical oversight are completed. * Responsible for the rollout of new product introduction and resolution of manufacturing-related problems. Refines and develops manufacturing processes. * Develop innovative production process improvements to support the strategic objectives of Pro Tools. * Determine and maintain the most cost-efficient (material and labor) process sequence in order to maintain quality requirements. * Works with other functions in the development of new products, specifications, and material sources. Provides technical expertise on manufacturing-related issues. * Analyzes and plans workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency. * Responsible for related A/R preparation, specifications, bid preparation, and vendor selection WHO YOU ARE: You ensure safety is the team's priority. REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS: * Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline. * Eight (8) years of relevant experience * Experience in a manufacturing environment * Experience leading teams or projects * Experience with ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, JDE, etc.) * Experience with Lean Manufacturing * Proficiency in MS Office Products * An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for 3 additional years of experience * Ability to travel up to 5% for the position. * Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role.
