Job Description:
Job Description Job Description We are seeking a skilled and
dedicated Light Commercial HVAC Journeyman Technician to join our
growing team. You will be responsible for the installation,
maintenance, and repair of various HVAC systems in commercial and
some residential properties. The ideal candidate is a
problem-solver who can work independently and provide exceptional
service to our diverse clientele. Key Responsibilities Diagnose and
Troubleshoot: Identify and isolate mechanical and electrical faults
in commercial HVAC systems, including rooftop units (RTUs), split
systems, boilers, furnaces, and controls. Maintenance and Repair:
Perform routine preventative maintenance and emergency repairs on a
variety of equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance
with safety standards. Installation: Install, connect, and test new
HVAC system components, potentially including ductwork and piping,
according to blueprints and specifications. Customer Interaction:
Communicate effectively with building managers and customers,
explaining issues and repair options clearly and professionally.
Documentation: Maintain accurate daily logs and records of work
performed, parts used, and recommendations in our service
management system. Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all health and
safety regulations (OSHA) and local HVAC codes. Mentorship:
Potentially provide guidance and on-the-job training to apprentices
or junior technicians. Qualifications & Skills Experience: Minimum
of 3-5 years of commercial and/or light commercial HVAC field
experience is required. Certifications & Licenses: Valid driver's
license with a clean driving record (company vehicle provided). EPA
Universal Certification (Type I/II or Universal) for refrigerant
handling is required. OSHA 10 certification (or willingness to
obtain). Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of refrigeration
cycles, electrical systems (high and low voltage), and the ability
to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving, communication, and customer
service skills. Physical Ability: Must be able to handle a physical
workload, including lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing ladders, and
working in confined spaces and various weather conditions. Tools:
Must possess your own standard industry-specific hand tools.
