Job Description Job Description OVERVIEW: Download and review
CAD models in IPT and STEP file formats from engineering team
Analyze part geometry, dimensions, and manufacturing requirements
from technical drawings Use EdgeCam CAM software to generate
toolpaths and convert CAD models into G-code programs Optimize
cutting parameters, tool selection, and machining sequences for
efficiency and quality Verify program logic and simulate machining
operations before deployment to shop floor Required Skills &
Experience CNC Programming: Ability to program CNC machining
centers Manual Machining: Experience with manual work on lathes,
bridge ports, and other equipment CAD Model Conversion: Take CAD
models (IPT files, STEP files) and convert to G-code using EdgeCam
software Software Proficiency: EdgeCam (primary CAM software used)
Complete Process: Download programs to machines and run them to
produce finished parts Dual Capability: Both CNC programming and
manual machining skills (noted as difficult combination to
find)
