Job Description:
Position Summary: Responsible for leading high quality
industrial and automation installation & relocation work, leading
and communicating with additional GRG builders, contractors, and
project management teams to ensure effective and efficient
supervision and start-up of equipment installed, dismantled, or
commissioned. Major Duties and Responsibilities: · Report to the
Installation/Relocation Manager for project assignments and to
report on daily activity progress and responsibilities. · Work
onsite or in-house with, electrical, mechanical, build and
engineering teams depending on project requirements. · Proactively
assessing work to be completed based on input from Project Manager,
Project Executioner, Engineering. Assigning/completing work within
project constraints and communicating with team members. · Lead
onsite team with daily work tasks, validation of work completed,
and fit and finish of installed equipment meets GRG quality
standards. · Work closely with the various GRG departments:
engineering, Project Management, installation, in machine building,
debug, validation, and commission. Cradle to Grave. · Consult with
Engineering, Project Management, and customers to define the scope
of projects and steps to achieve goals. Follow scope closely while
communicating grey areas, issues, adherence to timing and updates.
· Follow and enforce safety practices as defined by GRG America and
customers’ site safety requirements both onsite and in house. ·
Work with controls and mechanical team to test and debug automation
and electrical systems at customer sites for final acceptance. ·
Document rework and communicate back to Engineering and Project
Management teams. · Aftermarket support for any emergency service
or planned maintenance · Perform preventive and corrective
maintenance on installed equipment as needed. · Installation
support as required and provide daily service reports for progress
updates to the project team. · Break down work to be completed and
communicate plan to project team including project management and
engineering. · Work with Project Management to create timing plans
for onsite work to be completed based on project constraints. ·
Work with the project team to create install cadences. ·
Communicate with the assigned project team to ensure a constant
level of project awareness and no hidden information. · Prepare
service/warranty and other reports for customers and internal
distribution in a timely manner. · Manage onsite resources both
contractor and in house to achieve project goals and deliverables.
· Coordinate with the Documentation Department on a timely basis to
ensure that all drawings, manuals, sequence of operation, and all
electrical prints are kept current and correct. · Ensure that all
field operation work and /or upgrade documentation is updated on
the network, in the correct project file location(s) · Seek sales
opportunities and work with sales/applications while ensuring
customer satisfaction. · Assist in the quotation and technical
sales support when applicable. · Provide product improvement
suggestions and customer feedback to GRG team members and upper
Management. · Attend and participate in project meetings to ensure
onsite goals align with overall project goals. · Work with
Mechanical, Electrical and Controls engineers with projects,
perform product testing, and attend project kick off and lessons
learned meetings with Engineering, Sales, and customers. · Support
sales team in pre-sales technical concept and budgeting activities
when necessary. · Interpret client requirements, identify, and
address design parameters and engineering problems and ensure
solutions are implemented accurately and within budget. Job
requirements: · 5 years of job-related experience. · Strong
automation background in Mechanical or Electrical work. ·
Efficiently break down, organize, and plan work tasks to meet
company goals. · Critical thinking with exceptional problem-solving
skills, able to work independently and in team environments. ·
Proactive, resourceful & highly motivated with good communication
skills and ability to work in a high output environment. Ability to
balance multiple projects. · Computer skills including using
Microsoft Office, Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook &
eDrawings. · Travel domestically and internationally as required to
support projects.
