Job Description:

purpose of this position is to centralize the functionalities of
asset management planning, scheduling, and reliability engineering
under a common direction and strategy from a campus perspective at
a specific plant(s). The accountability of this position would
enable a campus wide approach to these asset management
disciplines, allowing for the visibility of priorities and asset
criticality from the campus perspective versus only a narrower
perspective. This visibility allows for the prioritization of asset
management responsibilities throughout the campus for the effective
distribution of asset availability and resources to maintain the
desired reliability. Responsibilities: Leadership - This individual
would be responsible for the leadership, management, and
coordination of individual departmental teams, to effectively
execute planning and scheduling of asset management. Visibility of
risk - This individual would be responsible to ensure that
visibility is maintained showing work identification, planning of
routine/outage work, scheduling of routine/outage work, provide
support during work execution, and lead the lessons learned from
routine/outage work. Outage planning - This individual would ensure
that effective plans are put in place for major planned outages, of
which, are harmonized across the facilities to 1. minimize the
disruptions of supply chains, 2. minimize outage spend, and 3.
maximize reliability. Like major planned outages, periodic outages
would also be effectively planned and scheduled from a zero-base
spend perspective, under the leadership of this individual.
Collaboration - During outages, this individual and their team
serves as a support group to the execution team for the outage,
assisting the problem solving, work-pull up, work additions, and
work deferment. Post outage review - In post outages, this
individual and their team leads post outage reviews to align on
lessons learned from the entire planning, scheduling, and execution
of the outage. Routine work assignments - For routine work, during
production turns, this individual's team assembles work packages
for employees to perform based upon the available resources.
Analytics and continuous improvement - Monitor and review of the
effectiveness of the planning, scheduling and execution is
conducted by this individual and their team and reviewed with the
execution team. This individual serves as a guide to shift
resources, escalate risk, and remove barriers that are interfering
with the effectiveness of asset management. Allocation of resources
— This individual translates the mission into asset management
practices to lead their teams to continue the alignment of other
components of the Asset Management Plan, a component of an ISO
55000 certification if we choose to pursue. Asset management
foundations — This individual ensures that the asset criticality,
asset hierarchy, root cause failure analysis, PM optimization,
Inventory practices, etc. are maintained and executed within a
specific plant. These individual functionalities work together to
improve life cycle cost, improve maintainability, reduce inventory,
and improve reliability of the assets while performing at a
predictable performance and at an accept risk. Technical /
Functional Skills Demonstrated ability to manage technical
priorities and resources. Broad knowledge and experience of
manufacturing in a heavy industry. Broad knowledge and experience
in outage planning, scheduling, and execution Knowledge of business
financials, capital, budgeting. Strong discipline in the
fundamentals of reliability centered maintenance disciplines.
Effective and emerging leadership skills. Forward thinking in
planning; thinking at least two downturns or outages in sequence
into the future. Ability to effectively communicate with a variety
of individuals (Management and Technical) within and outside the
business. Ability to articulate and visually translate data into
clear and precise messages to take invigorate action. Minimum
Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent with 14 years of
experience in planning, scheduling, executing asset management
strategies, reliability engineering, Spare's inventory, data
mining, steel manufacturing, or management. Preferred
Qualifications Bachelors of Engineering, Business, Economics or
Statistics with 9 year's experience in planning, scheduling,
executing asset management strategies, reliability engineering,
Spare's inventory, data mining, steel manufacturing, or management.
or Masters of Engineering, Business, Economics or Statistics with 8
year's experience in planning, scheduling, executing asset
management strategies, reliability engineering, Spare's inventory,
data mining, steel manufacturing, or management. Six Sigma
certification preferred Certified Maintenance Reliability
