Job Description & Skill Requirements We are seeking a Costing
Engineer with strong expertise in manufacturing processes and cost
estimation. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in
plastic and sheet metal components and a deep understanding of cost
drivers, supplier collaboration, and should-cost modeling. Key
Responsibilities: • Analyze and estimate costs for new components
and products across various commodities such as sheet metal,
machined items, plastic, rubber, and assemblies. • Collaborate with
suppliers during new product development for process mapping and
machine selection. • Perform independent cost calculations for
target pricing and negotiation purposes. • Conduct supplier quote
analysis and develop comprehensive negotiation dossiers for
sourcing and procurement teams. • Utilize costing software such as
aPriori, Costimator, and TcPCM for accurate estimations. • Generate
detailed reports for internal and external stakeholders on cost
structures and savings opportunities. • Provide technical support
for manufacturing process development and continuous improvement.
Required Skills & Experience: • Strong background in manufacturing
processes, especially plastic and sheet metal. • Good understanding
of cost drivers, MHR (Machine Hour Rate), overheads, and profit
margins. • Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and
knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing). •
Experience in supplier negotiations and cost reduction initiatives.
• Exposure to costing software like aPriori, Costimator, TcPCM. •
Ability to work independently on cost estimation tasks with minimal
supervision. Preferred Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in
Mechanical Engineering or a related field. • 3–7 years of
experience in costing, manufacturing engineering, or supplier
