What You'll Do
As an Electrical Engineer, you'll be part of our Engineered
Fastening team located in Elyria, OH working with the Nelson Stud
Welding team.
You'll get to:
Conduct new product design and development and mature product
support for Nelson's stud welding equipment and software product
line.
Perform electrical hardware design and writing software, testing
and support for stud welding equipment.
Design areas include analog / digital circuit designs,
microprocessor coding for real-time control and feature set, higher
level (Android / Windows) software development, and main power
system design.
Participate in project conception and planning for Nelson's
equipment product lines, market research, technical staff hiring,
and collaboration with industrial design firms.
Support areas include but are not limited to field service support,
PCB manufacturing support, and in-house equipment
manufacturing.
Who You Are

You also have:
BSEE degree and a minimum of 5 years of work experience in hardware
and software design
Schematic capture and component design. Experience with Orcad is a
plus.
Strong troubleshooting skills at ALL levels of electronics design
including PC board level and power electronics systems by phone or
in-person with our service department, manufacturing personnel, and
customers directly.
Knowledge and hands-on experience with following circuits is
desirable:
Serial communication / UART / CAN / USB / I2C / SPI
Digital I/O
Microcontrollers
ADC and DAC
Analog circuits
Power conversion/regulation: DC/DC and AC/DC
Power electronics
Hands-On Skills and Instrumentation: soldering, crimping,
breadboarding, multimeter, oscilloscope, digital power supplies,
DAQ, etc.
Understanding of IEC and CSA standards is a plus.
Experience with Visual Studio, Atmel Studio, Eclipse, and Git
version control or equivalent is required.
Ability to work with outside services, such as PCB layout, PCB
prototyping, artwork, engineering consulting, etc.
