Job Description Job Description Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1 year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. A School Sign Language Interpreter position is available to support elementary-level students in an educational setting located in Ashland, NE. This contracted role will focus on facilitating communication for deaf and hard-of-hearing students, ensuring they have full access to the curriculum and school activities. Key Responsibilities: Provide qualified sign language interpretation during classroom instruction, meetings, and school events. Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support students communication needs. Adapt to varied classroom environments and schedules as needed. Maintain confidentiality and professional standards at all times. Qualifications: Experience as a Sign Language Interpreter, particularly within educational settings. Ability to work onsite from 7:45 AM to 3:15 PM; candidates able to work afternoon hours only (11:00 AM - 3:15 PM) will also be considered. A valid license to practice, with provisional licenses accepted for those with an Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score below 4.0. Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment. This contract spans through May 22, 2026, supporting an elementary school caseload onsite. The role is based in Lincoln, NE, at an elementary school setting.
